I am a huge supporter of mental health awareness. Still I Run jumped on my personal radar when the firm I work for became a sponsor for one of the 5Ks. I looked into it and was immediately hooked. Mental health has always been an important area of my life both for personal reasons as well wanting to support others with their mental health. I started as a writer for our Run.Write.Fight program which I continue to participate in today. I always knew if I was going to get more involved this is the organization I would want to work with so I applied when the treasurer position opened up. This is the right place for me. I am not a runner but I love walking, hiking, the outdoors and bringing awareness to mental health. I hope that in some small way I am able to make a difference in this fight against the stigma surrounding mental health.
